by Lisa Gal

Brighton Hall, located in the vibrant Burbank Media District, is not just an ordinary educational institution; it’s a place where dreams come to life. With a rich history dating back to 1961, Brighton Hall has continuously evolved, offering a unique and flexible educational experience tailored to the needs of young professionals, athletes, performers, and students seeking a more intimate and welcoming environment. In this blog, we’ll journey through the school’s remarkable history, its commitment to academic excellence, and the inspiring success stories of its graduates.

Brighton Hall began its journey as the San Fernando Valley Professional School in 1961. Initially designed as a home school program for young professional athletes and performers, it provided them with the flexibility to pursue their dreams while receiving a quality education. In 1997, the visionary Director Angie Peiris took the reins of the school, ushering in a new era.

Under Ms. Angie’s leadership, Brighton Hall transitioned to a physical campus, allowing students to attend classes in real-time while continuing to support young professionals in their pursuit of excellence. Her determination and hard work led to the school achieving accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), opening doors for Brighton Hall graduates to prestigious universities.

In 2012, Brighton Hall made a significant move to its current location in the heart of the Burbank Media District. The school’s new home provided a lively, intellectually stimulating campus in a serene neighborhood, fostering an environment where students could thrive academically and personally. The dedicated and nurturing teachers and staff at Brighton Hall have always been instrumental in guiding students towards their goals.

Brighton Hall offers a comprehensive college preparatory education spanning grades 4 through 12, complete with University of California A-G approved coursework. What sets the school apart is its flexible schedule, catering to young professionals who would otherwise be homeschooled. Students have the option to attend classes on campus, join live sessions from their studio or film set via Zoom, or access course materials through the online portal, Jupiter Grades.

The school’s commitment to individualized education ensures that students, regardless of their background, receive a compassionate and personalized approach to learning. This approach has yielded exceptional results, with graduates of Brighton Hall going on to achieve great success in various fields.

Brighton Hall’s alumni roster includes some of the most recognizable names in the world of entertainment and beyond. Among the distinguished graduates are Jason Bateman, Janet Jackson, Soleil Moon Frye, Blake Lively, and Jason Lively, to name a few. These accomplished individuals credit Brighton Hall for providing them with the foundation and flexibility they needed to pursue their passions and dreams.

Brighton Hall is not just a school; it’s a place where potential is realized and futures are shaped. With a rich history, a commitment to flexible and individualized education, and a track record of producing successful graduates, Brighton Hall continues to be a beacon of inspiration for aspiring young professionals and students seeking a nurturing and supportive educational environment. The legacy of Director Angie Peiris and the dedicated teachers and staff at Brighton Hall will undoubtedly continue to guide students towards success in highly competitive colleges and universities for generations to come.
